Our clients were three individual evidence-based research institutes linked to Oxford University. All three needed to be housed and operate from one refurbished and remodelled building and each institute had their own unique requirements with shared workspaces, meeting rooms, café and conference facilities.

Our brief was to create a reimagined space within the building and a new layout that would maximise "creative collision" and idea-sharing while ensuring room for privacy and focused work.

We managed the needs of numerous stakeholders and designed a bespoke, balanced and upbeat environment with a common design language where all three individually branded organisations could sit comfortably. Contemporary and welcoming, the new Trajan House is a memorable destination with an engaging range of spaces to work and collaborate in any 24- hour period. The design emphasises the passage of time and the impact of light; in its variety of forms, light is used to work with natural circadian rhythms to reflect the time of day and users' moods.
